The Battle of Lewisham

Apr 3, 2017 | News

Telegraph Hill Centre has been a consistent part of the local social fabric of the area for more than 45 years.  13 August 2017 will mark 40 years of the Battle of Lewisham.   The Bishop of Southwark, members of St Catherine’s Church congregation and notable figures like Darcus Howe were involved in the Battle of Lewisham.   It is fitting therefore that Telegraph Hill Centre is hosting a consultation in its lobby on behalf of Goldsmiths, asking members of the community about their views on the wording of the commemorative plaque.

Help decide the wording of the commemorative plaque and find out more about this seminal event in the history of the area below.
