The Telegraph Hill Centre is looking for a volunteer to join the Branching Out Art class on Thursdays 10-12am.
Branching Out is a regular weekly event, which takes place on Mondays and Thursdays at the Telegraph Hill Centre, aimed at the over 55s, but anyone is welcome. It includes an art class, lunch club, book club, crochet and knitting group, tai chi and other one-off events.
Our art class members have just had their first exhibition, in collaboration with Goldsmith’s, where their work was showcased for 10 days at the university’s gallery in New Cross.
We are looking for someone to assist and support our art teacher Kay. She mainly teaches watercolour painting techniques to our members and we would love to have someone who would teach the use of acrylics.
We are looking for someone living or working locally, ideally an art student who has previous experience working within a community setting and/or who wishes to gain experience working with older or vulnerable people – someone with a passion
for teaching and sharing your art practice.
What we offer is a rewarding and inclusive experience enhancing your professional development, and an opportunity to add to your CV.
If you have any questions or queries, please contact the centre manage, Sue Morgan, at manager@thcentre.com or 020 7639 0214, or call in to the centre at Kitto Road, SE 14, 5TY, between 9am and 3pm weekdays.
